The pricing announcement for the EFL Cup tie against Liverpool means that in both games we have played in this season’s competition, the cost of watching the match has increased for Spurs fans.
For the past three seasons, THST has lobbied successfully for accessible pricing at cup games. At White Hart Lane, adult tickets have been sold for £25 or £20, with seniors paying £10 and juniors £5 in all areas of the ground. And those prices have applied to away fans too.

After every cup draw, THST requests the £20/£10/£5 price structure is maintained. It did so again for the LFC v THFC tie at Anfield. But ticket prices have been announced as up to £28 for adults, £21 for seniors, £14 for 17-21 year olds and £5 for juniors.
We understand that, under competition rules, both Clubs must mutually agree ticket prices. The agreement reached by LFC and THFC for this tie will see 17 and 18-year-old Spurs fans pay almost triple what they paid under the £20/£10/£5 system. Seniors will pay £11 more. And the full price is the highest charged to Spurs fans in any round of an EFL tie, except the final, for over three seasons. Once the booking fee is added, the price is 50p under the headline price of a Premier League away ticket.
Liverpool Supporters' Union, Spirit of Shankly, said: “We support the efforts made by THST to bring down the price of tickets for fans in cup games. Football must be affordable and supporters having to travel long distances for midweek matches should have loyalty rewarded. There needs to be transparency in the way prices are set and working with supporter groups helps with this. There is an opportunity to price cup games affordably."
