We’ve been in discussion with the clubs, police, London Stadium reps and fan reps ahead of our game at West Ham in order to provide advice to our fans travelling to Saturday’s game. We have made the point that information from the hosts should have been provided earlier, but here’s what we know.
The match will be a Category C game after our last visit passed off largely without incident. The police approach will be “firm but friendly”. The stadium will open at 11am for a 12.30pm kick-off.
Local bars and pubs will not be open for away fans. Pubs in Liverpool Street will be open at the landlord’s discretion at the usual times. Westfield shopping centre will not be open to fans. A controlled drinking zone will again be in operation around the stadium.
Pudding Mill Lane Station is closed, and there are no TFL rail trains between Liverpool Street and Stratford. Advice to Spurs fans is to travel via Hackney Wick if possible. Trains run every 10 minutes. You are advised to allow at least 30 minutes for the walk from Hackney Wick.
Spurs fans using Stratford station will be directed around the ring road to the away section. Advice is to arrive at Stratford no later than one hour before kick off.
IMPORTANT: This year, searches will be conducted on the bridges, not at the entrance to the ground. Once fans are through the bridge searches, they will be in a sterile zone and there will be no further searches.
The away entrance is through eight turnstiles at Gate D, which is accessed via Bridge 4 in the South West corner of the stadium. Spurs have an allocation of 3,000 tickets across blocks 117, 118, 218 and 219. The upper tier holds 1,200 and the lower c1,800.
There will be a 15 seat segregation line on one side, and a 13 seat one on the other. The concourse is fully segregated. Segregation lines will be staffed by stewards and police. Regular THFC matchday stewards will be inside the away end, working to the authority of stadium staff.
A state-of-the-art CCTV system is in place. In addition, c50 stewards with bodycams will be deployed, and these cams can be used to record audio and video when it is deemed necessary by stadium staff, in line with standard practice.
There will be no alcohol served on the outer podium. Bars inside the stadium will be serving until 10 minutes before kick off.
Fans wishing to leave up to the 75-minute mark will be able to leave and move freely. After 75 minutes barriers creating a sterile area come into effect. Away fans will be channelled towards Hackney Wick station, or to Stratford via the loop road.
There are no plans for a hold back, but fans can stay in the stadium for up to 30 minutes after the final whistle.
There will be no bars open after the game, and police will be enforcing the no alcohol policy.
Detailed information for disabled away supporters will be sent to THFC and duly circulated.
